FIFA ==== FIA

So England yet again fail to win the World cup. This made me think that FIFA has become a lot like FIA. Both seem so me more interested in following the shallow flashy money, and selling out the traditional base of the sport.

Mind you at least Bernie is completely transparent about the money directly heading into his coffers, whereas the FIFA executives keep their back handers very quiet.

2 Annoying Alans

I watched the World Cup last night. and rather than comment on the relative virtues of the match, I’d like to express my extreme annoyance with the witterings of the two Alan’s Hanson and Shearer.
Yes the Dutch were horrendously violent, bordering on psychopathy during the match, and should have had at least 2 players sent off. But compare the condemnation handed out by the of the “esteemed” Alans with their reaction to similar treatment regularly meeted out to the Arsenal by the likes of Birmingham, Hull or the current cloggers-du-jour in the premiership. Obviously and English stud in the shin hurts less than a Dutch one. or all English players aen’t “that kind of player” while the Dutch are. At least the Spanish came away with their legs intact.
On another subject, the Spanish win makes Cesc staying with Arsenal less likely, at least from a subconcious point of view. What with Cesc associating playing with his Barca pals with winning stuff. and with his Arsenal pals less so.
Oh well…..
